This page contains information about the AIS_HCI@listserv.syr.edu (or email@example.com, not case sensitive), a mailing list designed to serve the needs of the AIS SIGHCI. The AIS_HCI list was establised in August 2001 by Ping Zhang at Syracuse University. It is supported and funded by Syracuse University.
AIS_HCI List adheres to the policy and conditions of use of the ISWORLD List. Specifically, the following apply to the AIS_HCI List:
|1.||The AIS_HCI List is primarily for use by MIS and HCI researchers, doctoral students, and practitioners world wide.|
|2.||The purpose of the AIS_HCI List is to be a broadcast medium for IS/HCI-related information of interest to, and relevant for, members of the IS/HCI academic community.|
|3.||Only AIS_HCI List subscribers may distribute messages over AIS_HCI List;|
|4.||The AIS_HCI List should not be used to advertise events, items or services that are marketed to generate profit, without advanced permission of the SIGHCI chair.|
|5.||The AIS_HCI List should not be used for personal communication (e.g. change of contact details) or self-promotion.|
|6.||The AIS_HCI List should not be used for student exercises.|
|7.||The AIS_HCI List should not be used for repeated distribution of the same information.|
|8.||In order to minimize the level of superfluous postings, while maintaining the dynamics of an unmoderated list, replies to messages posted on the List are by default sent only to the Sender of the original posting.|
|9.||AIS SIGHCI reserves the right to edit or amend AIS_HCI List policy.|
The Sender accepts and agrees to be bound by the following conditions, which are set by ISWORLD List and applicable to the AIS_HCI List:
|1.||The Sender acknowledges that he or she is the publisher of the message to be distributed on the AIS_HCI List. AIS SIGHCI and the AIS_HCI List service providers take no responsibility for the content of any message, unless it is directly disseminated by AIS SIGHCI.|
|2.||The Sender acknowledges that (i) the AIS_HCI List is not moderated, (ii) all messages will be automatically distributed in unedited form to all AIS_HCI subscribers, (iii) the content of the messages is limited to IS/HCI matters, and (iv) the message has a subject line that clearly reflects the content of the message.|
|3.||The Sender warrants that the content of the message is not (i) confidential, (ii) in violation of any copyright law, (iii) defamatory, or (iv) in violation of any other law.|
|4.||The Sender warrants that the message is not inflammatory, offensive, or political in content, tone or implication to any member of the diverse, global, and multi-cultural AIS_HCI community.|
|5.||The Sender warrants that the content distributed is in the public domain, or that the Sender owns copyright in the material, or has a licence to publish the material.|
|6.||The Sender warrants that information contained within the posting has not been previously distributed over AIS_HCI. Individuals who are uncertain whether their posting has been successfully distributed should check the online archive for verification, rather than distributing the message a second time.|
|7.||Individuals using AIS_HCI to solicit information from the AIS_HCI community agree to provide the community with a summary of the responses obtained, either by distributing the summary through AIS_HCI, or by distributing a URL for the summary.|
|8.||The Sender indemnifies AIS SIGHCI and the AIS_HCI List service providers against any liabilities that either may incur as a result of any message sent by the Sender.|
|9.||At the discretion of the Chair of AIS SIGHCI or the AIS_HCI List manager, AIS SIGHCI reserves the right to temporarily or permanently unsubscribe any AIS_HCI subscriber who fails to abide by these conditions, and also to remove any postings from archives of the AIS_HCI List with or without cause.|
The most commonly used commands are given here. Once you are on the list, you will receive all the messages other subscribers send to the list. If you have any questions or difficulties, send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org or call (315) 443-5617.
Note: the first three commands below are administration related. They should be sent to listserv manager at email@example.com. You can also find these commands at the listserv archive website http://listserv.syr.edu/archives/ais_hci.html. Item #4 below is for sending messages to the listserv. You should use our AIS_HCI address for this purpose: firstname.lastname@example.org.
