GENERAL DESCRIPTION
Human-computer interaction is an interdisciplinary area that has attracted researchers, educators, and practitioners from several disciplines. In recent years, the area has developed at a fast pace, pervading nearly every aspect of our lives. It is a main research stream in the field of information systems and it is concerned with the ways people interact with information technology in business, managerial, organizational, and cultural contexts. This track welcomes papers that aim at advancing our understanding of any aspects of human-computer interaction. Papers may use any research methodology (conceptual, empirical, qualitative, or quantitative).

SPECIAL ISSUE OF THE INFORMATION SYSTEMS JOURNAL
We are very pleased to announce that the Information Systems Journal (ISJ) will be publishing expansions of the best papers from the HCI track at PACIS 2006. Our special thanks go to the co-editors of ISJ, Dr. Guy Fitzgerald and Dr. David Avison, for their support of HCI research and AIS SIGHCI. Continuing the AIS SIGHCI tradition, we believe that this fast-tracking opportunity with a high-quality refereed academic journal will promote HCI research in the MIS community. The guest editors for this special issue will be Nancy Russo, Matt Germonprez, Traci Hess, and Scott McCoy.
